Steve,

This goes to my point about the correlation of being able to wish for things and them actually happening. There's a cause and effect relationship that exists in life. Bad things happen to good people no matter how much we wish they didn't. There are some things we can change and others that we can't. I believe that ultimately we can change how we react to things and this ability to "see the glass half full versus half empty" can have positive impact in our life.

You might like to see the video clip of "Emmanuel's Gift" and "Jim Mclaren" on the "Film in Development" page on my blog.

Thanks for your comments!

I read an interview last year with a London surgeon. He described the disturbing event of a cancer patient coming to see him. She was in tears because she wanted to believe in these books. The fact that she was deteriorating made her feel guilty. She felt that somehow she was letting her family down because she couldn't 'will' it away. It was like a poor reflection of her wish to live and the love for her close family. The authors of these books are often guilty of compounding tragedy. Anybody who has gone through this knows that wishful thinking and prayers aren't a guarantee.
